I had the Permission Research crud on my system. It crashed me to the point where I couldnot open my Control Panel, any EXE program ect, and I had to do multiple system restores just to be able to get into any programs to scan my system and remove the bugs.

I haven't had a problem since I ditched Windows ME (and we all know what an abortion that was). As long as you use Avast Anti-virus with Spybot S&D and keep them up to date, then you should have next to no issues. Also, keep away from unethical/illegal sites, they're always full of malware.

Millenium Edition if you must know, and I actually knew one of the guys that caused microsoft so much trouble. Lost touch with him now but I am rather glad I don't know him anymore. That guy cause S.A. a lot of problems. Even planted a virus that in one of our national banks that made all their money dissapear for a weekend a few years ago.

I had a lovely little virus we picked up from a picture in a forum. Essentially it copied every single file on the computer and doubled it with the copy having a .vbs extension... We then tried to access the pc over the network to backup important files and the same thing happened to the second computer... 2 clean installs later everything is fine again... :) (Windows ME funnily enough)
